Coddington Uardry Poll Merinos
This years Coddington Uardry Poll Merino rams have had a tough start until April 2024. They have done it all on grass as economics did not allow us to hand feed as we spent most of our time working out at our Mundiwa/Twin Rivers Station, Brewarrina NSW.
All our rams we put onto grazing wheat, first week in June and fattened up very quickly.
We scanned the rams at the beginning of August, by Trevor Pearce Scanning and we were impressed with the results of body weight, muscle and fat scores.
This year, we have breach and wrinkle scored the rams. This was performed by our Sheep Classer Mr Angus Munro, when we were lotting the rams for sale. Angus was very excited with the rams this year. Their wool quality and quantity and their make and shape, shows their great during ability as a dual purpose merino, non mulsed. (We ceased mulsing from 2006).
Highly fertile flock with an average micron of 18.1.
Coddington SheepMaster
Offering 30 specially selected rams, which have scanned well for fat and muscle. Trevor Pearce gave most of these rams an extra tick for their muscle shape of the “chop.” Trevor was very impressed by their carcase, shape and structure of the Coddington SheepMaster rams.
We have SheepMaster ewes lambing at 12-13 months of age, with a high percentage of twins. They are great mothers with lots of milk and udder shape. We are very impressed with their ability to fatten on lower protein feed, hence saving on costs of feeding and labour.
Lambs have been selling over the hook at $330 per head.
